Great idea for a new series!
You need to put some posters on the wall in your bedroom…

That’s kind of a thing you stop doing once you start being an adult. Not judging you or anything if you do, but I know once I moved out I stopped doing it. Day[9] does it, I guess.

Chill man, it’s just a suggestion.

Great idea for a series. I point lots of newer Junior and Seniors to your site and it is a great resource.
I have run my league for 7 years now and I think there is a gap between “starter decks” which are usually crushed in normal league play and “tier decks” which require lots of expensive cards and a large library of cards to pull from.
It is nice to see a level 2 “advanced deck” that can be cheaply assembled so kids can have a chance to win a round or two at league when they are starting out and still learning the game.
Looks like it focuses on teaching the basics and doesn’t just feed them a tier 1 deck list that newer players just won’t understand because it is loaded with meta techs.

Throw Suicune in there and they’ll win alot! ha

The only change that I would make is to remove the 2 Biancas and add in 2 Pokemon Center stadium cards. I feel like even in a basic “newcomer” blastoise deck there should be stadiums included because they are widely played in the game again and mean a lot to this deck already. A stadium should be played for the sole reason to counter Frozen City anyway. I understand the idea of having an extremely consistent deck for new players to feel comfortable with, but I think dropping that down to a standard 13-14 and adding in 2 stadiums would be more realistic to the game today.

A suggestion about what you could also include in this series: Talk about how much the deck would cost. I felt like you could have mentioned the fact that there are promos of Mewtwo EX and Keldeo EX, which are dirt cheap on several reputable online sites.

Overall, nice video though. I like the idea of this series. Theres so many decks that can be built right now for new players to understand and have a reasonable chance to do well with.

This deck really suffers without beach. I would almost run spiritomb, to get that draw power, while shutting off ace specs for a turn, maybe 2. Also gives your opponent, especially genesect, a hard choice, kill the squirtle or the spiritomb.

Is this still viable? My daughter wants to play now that she watches my son and I play each other. She’s only 4 but we don’t want her to feel left out. We have a lot of these cards already so it’d be fun to give her an actual competitive deck so I can help her beat her brother, haha. Thanks.

This deck is very viable right now and may become the dominant version after next set. Why? Because if you’ve seen the scans, the current version that most play with black kyurem and lightning energies could prove to not get the job done. Not only is there a revenge attacking druddigon that can OHKO any dragon type, but with mega pokemon coming out (such as Kangy, which will be playable) with 230 hp….doing 200 and having to discard 3 with black kyurem may no longer be the best way to go when you can load up a Keldeo or Mewtwo and possibly do enough damage. Those two reasons alone might make this version the better way to go. And above all else, its more consistent since you’re only using water energy. And one thing that I also have to mention is the Pyroar that will come out. You will need blastoise to have enough water energies ready to go if you want to take it out since all basics wont be able to.

Again, i’m saying all of that after next set, which is still a month and a half away. As of right now, this version is definitely viable though. You might think about adding in Suicune PLB since it has the safeguard ability. And its dirt cheap to get.

I would maybe run a Beartic from Plasma Storm in it, so I don’t have to sacrifice my only blastoise to kill a pyroar.

Is electrode a good substitute in this deck for Tropical Beach? I’m on a budget.

Can I run this deck with only 3 superior energy retrieval?
