2014-15 Autumn Regional Championship Results!

Regional Championships are a little different this season, so keeping track of the results will be interesting. While the first day of the event uses the Standard format, the second day has players playing an entirely different deck in the Expanded format! We’ll try to keep track of as many decks as possible for Standard and the Top 8 decks for Expanded. Thank you!

      no one cares

      1. Ivysaur Man

        I do, that’s really helpful.

        1. Zachary Siddiq

I don’t want to cause an internet argument, but I agree; there are plenty of people that care. I feel like the Junior and Senior divisions are given next-to-no attention, even though I am sure there are plenty of standout players. I felt this way as a Senior. I hope that the community in general gives them the same amount of attention in the future.

          1. heroic Dido HDMI

I am a junior and I think that juniors play decks which are different and interesting, at world’s there was a Mewtwo/Garbodor, Plasma Kyurem, Yveltal/Garbodor and a Plasma/Aromatisse.
However, in masters there was nearly only Virizion/Genesect in top cut

          2. marc lutz

Thats because Juniors play way worse than Masters and don´t have an equal thought process when they choose or build their decks.
Also The decks you listed aren´t even interesting, they are known decks that were just not as good as Genesect at that time.

          3. Neil Klima

I disagree. I think Juniors sometimes can build really competitive decks just because they tend to keep things simple and not overthink like some of us masters tend to do with this card or that. Ive seen some Junior decks that were really impressive. remember the Medicham Ex deck that was on store shelves a while back? A junior built that if i remember correctly.

          4. go!

If it plasma aromatisse was bad, why did runner up Simon narode play it.

          5. Deathbydragon

Seniors can have really creative ideas that may play well in masters too, so looking into the devision can allow you to get an unexpected edge, plus size up the competion for next year

      2. Greg

… about your opinion. There are many Jrs and Srs playing — and without them, the game would die. Believe it our not, these kids bring in a large chunk of revenue to the game. So masters should be more respectful of them.

      3. seah jeremy

no 1 cares then y are u commenting? plus u’re forgetting that u urself were once a senior and a junior and without seniors and juniors there would be no masters players. so i suggest u show some respect to the seniors and juniors.

        1. lol

some players started playing at over age 15 so no they may have not been a senior

    2. Joni Heredia

We do care. Thanks! I agree that juniors and seniors deserve more attention. I’ve enjoyed their streams at Nationals and Worlds as well as some Regionals. They put a lot of work and hours into the game as well!

      1. Jared Knobloch

Thanks everyone for replying to me, this is why Pokemon is so awesome!

      2. aromatisse

Look how good the Japanese juniors are. Lots of them could take on masters.
The juniors top cut was all Japan. It’s also interesting to see their meta.

    3. Hale Obernolte

2nd was Troy Obernolte. He had mewtwo and beartic for what it’s worth

  2. Chris Collins

Does Anyone Know Where To Find Any Matches For The Autumn Regional Championships? If You Do Please Say.

  9. RaGaBa

Pooka, big thanks for posting this, i was wondering if you could also play a ptcgo match or tournament testing with yveltal seismitoad. and why do people play charizard in their yveltal deck? is it a counter for VirGen? I think the people playing it are using combustion blast but im not sure.

    1. jog

They’ll be using the combustion blast Charizard EX but they’ll be attacking with wing attack.

      1. Will McEowen

With a Muscle Band, Charizard EX can Wing Attack for 160 damage. With the 180hp, it is impossible for a VirGen player to OHKO Charizard without G Booster. So what the Yveltal player does is set up damage on several Virizion or Genesect with Oblivion wing (or Night Spear bench damage, depending on the circumstance), and then they drop a Spiritomb and clean up the board with Charizard.

  10. PokeMontoya

Daniel Lozada Ran Big basics/garbo. Torandus/mew2/lando/toad/garbo

  11. Pablo smith

I believe Tyler ran virgen but I could be wrong and emmet ran yveltal/dedenne/garbodor

  12. Zachary Siddiq

Just in case you want to keep track…

    Day 1:

Please forgive me if I made a mistake!

      1. Udar Mailliw

    I played yveltal/mewtwo/garbador at Houston day 1

  27. Joni Heredia

Does anyone know any juniors or seniors results from Top Cut in Philadelphia or Houston? I saw someone posted AZ seniors.

    1. bradysmomdad

My son was in the Junior division at Philadelphia. He played different versions of Yveltal Garbodor in the swiss and the top 8. In the top 8 he played against a Seismitoad Pyroar deck and a Fighting Seismitoad deck. There were a lot of fighting decks in general in the Junior division.

      1. Joni Heredia

Cool. Thank you. I’ll post what I see in Ft. Wayne this weekend. Oh, and, congrats to your son!

        1. Jeff

Hi Joni. Alejandro played virizion genesect with beartic in swiss and top 8. And yes, there were indeed a lot of fighting decks in juniors. The junior who won the event, Tanner, (who btw is an exceptional player and an incredibly nice kid) played fighting/seismitoad/garbodor. Good luck to your kids this weekend. Jeff

  28. Lee Trahan

My parents wouldn’t let me go on the Friday of the event, we had the hotel room and everything, thanks grades
