After taking a hiatus from the game for a few years, Drew returned to competitive play in 2008, which was his best overall season to date; he finished 2nd at US Nationals and followed it up with a Top 32 finish at Worlds. Seeing as the last season he played in was 2005, Drew's successful year let everyone know he was back and here to stay. Like the other members of The Top Cut, Drew has been playing since Base Set. In fact, he played in the first World Championship in 2002 when Wizards of the Coast held the Pokémon license and again in 2004 during Nintendo’s first World Championship; he finished 10th and 5th respectively at the events. Overall, Drew is regarded as an extremely consistent player who places well at nearly every tournament he enters. At heart, he is a lifelong fan of the game who has a great passion for competition.
